After years of chronic pain in my lower back, severe sciatica pain, and failed attempts at physical therapy, I was referred to Dr. Melikian by a friend that had gone through surgery with Dr. Melikian and was very satisfied with his results. Dr. Melikian met with my husband and I and answered all our questions, he took his time with us to make sure we were satisfied with the plan to relieve my pain. The first step was to see if an epidural injection would relieve the pain, it did but for only two weeks, so my next option was to have microdecompression surgery on my L4-L5. My pain was gone after waking up from surgery, my entire experience with Dr. Melikian and his staff has been unbelievable! Dr. Melikian is amazing and his team is the best. I was very impressed by every aspect of my experience, Dr. Melikian is very kind and sincere, also very confident and he takes his time to listen to my questions and concerns. He explained all aspects of my procedure and it all went according to what he told me. He installed two artificial M6 Disc's at the surgical center in Marina Del Rey. I was really impressed there too, because it's so specialized all they do are spine procedures, that was very comforting. When Dr. Melikian came to see me after the procedure while I was in recovery he said my surgery was text book, that felt great to hear. Since I know he's done hundreds of these operations, I felt so lucky to have chosen this doctor based off his experience along with him more than living up to all the favorable reviews. I went to Dr. Melikian for pain in my neck, shoulder, arms, and pretty much everywhere else. I had two pinched nerves, which were not getting better. I had tried pretty much everything everything over the course of a year, and nothing was working.Dr. Melikian met with us and answered every question we had, talking through all non-surgery options in detail. He was very nice, patient, and very, very knowledgeable. For me, there was no question, I needed the surgery.Neck surgery is pretty scary, so kudos to ALL aspects of Dr. Melikian's team and process. The front office was unreal, the imaging center was awesome (same location as his office) the surgery center (again same location as his office) nurses were just angels, the surgery team all introduced themselves to me before surgery, everything went really well, and they were able to get me out in 23 hours.I think this must have been the best care I have ever received.
